Present:  President, Lynn Wolken; 1st Vice President, Barbara Robichaux, 2nd Vice President Darleen Landry; Recording Secretary Estelle de Verges; Treasurer, Alfred Rodriguez; Membership/Registrar, Madeline Axtman; Corresponding Secretary, Beverly Buisson; Newsletter Editor, Saundra Green; Public Relations, Mary LaCoste; Standards/Continuing Education Chairman, Adam Stevenson.

 

Since there was no October Board Meeting, the September Minutes were reviewed and approved.  Motion: Adam Stevenson, Seconded: Barbara Robichaux. The Financial Report was reviewed and accepted.  Motion: Adam Stevenson, Seconded: Madeline Axtman.

 

Old Business:

 

Sugar/Plantation Excursion – The Fundraiser trip was a huge success with 44 people attending and 46 paid.  The organization cleared approximately $1,600.  Thanks to Barbara Robichaux and Catherine Mouton for their excellent work!

 

Holiday Social/Installation of Officers – Thanks to the efforts of Lynn Wolken and Sherry Constance our holiday party and installation of officers will be held at the Aquarium of the Americas.  The dinner will cost $35 and there will be a cash bar.  Each member may purchase a ticket for a guest.  There will be usual raffle of a basket of goodies.

 

Certificates/Pins – Continuing Education certificates and pins will be available for pickup at the holiday Social.  Members must return their 2 year bar to receive their 3 year CEP bar. Wetlands Training Certificates and patches wll also be distributed at the meeting.

 

New Business:

 

Congratulations to new officers (some returning) – The Nominating Committee slate was unanimously elected at the last General Meeting.  Thanks to Joe Gendusa and his Nominating Committee for their great job.  Installation of officers will be held at the Holiday Social.

 

Membership - Dues were waived in 2006 because of the hardships resulting from Hurricane Katrina. Membership for licensed Tour Guides will remain at $60.00 and are due January 1, 2007.  Cost for Insurance is $80.00 at present.  A form will be included in the next newsletter.

 

Reports: 

 

Darleen Landry – next General Meeting will be at the Pharmacy Museum with a guided

tour.  Light refreshments will be served.

 

Saundra Green – In order to expedite publication, the next newsletter will include the President’s Message, Membership/Insurance and Holiday Social forms.

 

Adam Stevenson – will pickup Wetlands Certificates and patches from the Basin Street Train Station office for distribution to those who did not get them at the July conference.

 

Mary LaCoste – will work with Darleen Landry to obtain a “Times Picayune” photographer for the Holiday Social to photograph the event and new 2007 officers.

 

There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8pm.  Motion:  Darleen Landry, Seconded:  Madeline Axtman.

 

Next Board meeting:  December 5, 2006 at Tujaque’s.  Joe Gendusa of the Nominating Committee will also be invited to attend.
